The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, in fulfilment of its mandate to promote the growth, professionalism, and sustainable development of Nigeria's film and audiovisual industry, is organizing the maiden edition of the NFVCB Masterclass Series, specifically designed to equip practitioners with practical knowledge, professional skills, and industry insights necessary for success in the evolving digital creative economy.
The Masterclass Series is a direct outcome of recommendations and requests from participants at the 5th PAO Nigerian Digital Regulatory Conference (NDRC), held in Lagos in November 2025. While the conference provided a platform for robust discussions on the future of Nollywood in the digital age, participants expressed the need for more practical and in-depth engagement on critical issues affecting content creators, filmmakers, producers, distributors, and digital entrepreneurs.
The July 13, 2026 masterclass will focus on three key areas identified by industry stakeholders at PAO-NDCRC 2025 as essential to the growth and sustainability of the Nigerian film industry:
1. Legal Issues in the Film Industry
2. Film and Content Monetization
3. Production Standards and Best Practices
The Board has invited experts to give participants access to expertise that is both practical and immediately applicable.
This edition of the Masterclass will be open to accredited and card-carrying members of each of the Registered guilds and associations under the Federation of Registered Nollywood Guilds and Associations. Interested members of the registered Guilds and Associations should contact their respective guild head please.
Other interested participants will be by registration and they will receive an invitation to attend after they register.
The date again is July 13, 2026 from 9am prompt.
