LAGOS STATE, IKEJA–AGIDINGBI — The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) led by the Executive Director, Alhaji Adedayo Thomas attended the Yoruba Films and Music Festival (YFMF) which held on Thursday 11 and Friday 12, October, 2018.
The 2-Day event had in attendance players from Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Association of Nigeria Theatre-Arts Industry (ANTP), Music Advertisement of Nigeria (MAN) and Drama groups from the South-West states.
With its purpose to showcase Yoruba films, music and rich cultural heritage to the world, the festival was glorified with Yoruba meals, attires and the entirety of its culture.
Themed: Exhibiting Our Culture Through Our Works, Alhaji Thomas was thrilled by the euphoria of the South-West beauty that was evident and with great delight he basked in the moment.
Owing to his tremendous efforts towards the fight against piracy, Adedayo Thomas was honored with an award for his contribution through the Board in curbing piracy in the film industry—the award was presented to him by HRM Ayangburin of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Sotobi.
Veteran filmmaker PA Jimoh Aliu congratulated Adedayo Thomas in acknowledgement of the Board’s tit-for-tat approach with piracy in Nigeria.
