Lagos,Ikeja―The Nigerian International Film Summit 2018 (NIFS)  held at Protea Hotel  ended its 2-Day program on Wednesday 5, September 2018.

The Summit which started on Tuesday 4, was organised by Ijeoma Onah who is also the founder of the summit that gathered personages of great repute in the film industry, Marketing, Advertising, and Telecommunications.

Some faces at the event are the Executive Director of National Film and Video Censors Board ( NFVCB ), Alhaji Adedayo Thomas, Zonal Coordinator South West, Edward Edion, Some Staff of NFVCB,  Paul Igwe President Film Producers Association of Nigeria, Opa Williams, Agatha Amata CEO RaveTV, Jared Murray Bruce of Silverbirb, representatives of Africa Independent Television (AIT),Patrick Lee, Ozone Cinema, Moses Babatope, FilmOne distribution, Mrs Odili Roseline; Mr Akanni Oluremi, Madu Chikwendu, Gabriel Okoye of Gabosky Films; Rosanna Hart, Silverbird Distribution, Goge Africa, and  also the financial institutions.

Participants from Ivory Coast, South Africa et al also attended the summit.

It was a knowledge-driven summit owing to discussions on the x-ray of the movie industry in areas of challenges, opportunities and the way forward.

Alhaji Adedayo Thomas who presented a paper titled: Moving from Censorship to Classification was interviewed by Goge Africa after his presentation.

On Wednesday which was the Day-2 of the summit, had two panel discussions on the Future & Sustainability of PayTV business in Nigeria: Traditional versus Digital and Linear versus Non-Linear and also on What Producers Want: The Batlle for Revenues and Justifying Production Investments that further heightened the insights at the 2018 summit.

During the summit Nigerian Film Producers and their Ivorian counterparts made an agreement to produce movies that will feature actors from both countries and a participant at the event who has been in the business of translating Nollywood movies into French language and having them marketed in Francophone countries, lauded the move and said that there is a great need for Film Producers to produce quality movies given the evidence that Nollywood is far ahead in Africa.

A cultural performance by Arapanja bata thrilled participants at  the cocktail that closed the summit.
