Umar G. Fage, acting zonal coordinator, north-west zone, who led some members of staff National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), says the zone cannot allow any uncensored/unclassified movie to be circulated within the zone without the Board’s censorship certificate.
He said this during the Board’s visit to the Film House Cinema, where they were received by the Manager, Asemota Linda.
Describing the Board’s duties, Fage told the manager that the National Film and Video Censors Board is responsible for the regulation of film and video works in Nigeria and emphasized on the need-to-know insights on monitoring and compliance.
“Film House Cinema should not allow any uncensored/unclassified film and video movie to be shown in the Cinema,”. He added
Asemota Linda who was glad to be visited by the Board said that she will ensure that such movies are not shown or exhibited in the Cinema.
The Central Market in the north-west zone had its share of the insights on monitoring and compliance under the Sensitization program with a visit from the Board’s operation unit, and this was to help in curbing of sales and exhibition of uncensored and unwholesome movies in an unlicensed premises.
