ANAMBRA STATE,AWKA ㅡ National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), South-East zone led representatives of her excellency, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, students of various schools, police and member of Film Marketers Association on a road walk on the fight against pornography on Thursday 7, June, 2018.
The event which was well covered by Anambra Broadcasting Service and the Sun Newspaper saw students holding cardboards with different messages that negates pornography engagement.
Her Excellency, represented by her aide, Mrs Nkechi Onwubuka, described pornographic contents as a ravaging rot to the future of our youths.
Speaking at the sensitization and awareness campaign, organised by the NFVCB, South-East Zone she detailed various personal and societal harms of pornography, stating out that the hazards presented by the bane have devastating effects on people, mainly the children.
Appealling to the students who were participants of the road walk, Chief Mrs Obiano lauded the approving drive of the National Film and Video Censors Board, for such sprightly moves were mandatory to the spread of erotic materials in the markets.
Mr. Hubert Odeh, the South-East Zonal Coordinator, NFVCB, in the stead of Alhaji Adedayo Thomas, Executive Director, thanked her excellency for holding up the event, stating that such responsive act has added to her endless chains of social and governmental consciousness.
He restated the Board’s determination to eradicate the sales and broadcast of pornographic materials, urging residents to report any seller of the prohibited materials.
Some confisticated pornographic materials valued at elevn million naira was displayed during the awareness campaign.
Mr Odeh on behalf of Alhaji Thomas, presented her excellency an award for purposeful efforts towards bringing an end to the menace of pornography, and the road walk throughout the expanse of major streets in Awka.
