The Executive Director of National Film and Video Censors Board ( NFVCB), Alh Adedayo Thomas, has been  presented with an award of Excellence by The Northern Youth Vanguard.

The Northern Youth Vanguard is a Non Governmental organisation aimed at combating drug abuse among youths in Nigeria. The Secretary General of the Organisation, Mr Adasu Fred , gave a brief insight on the objective of the organisation which is solely about saying” NO” to drug abuse targeted at minors from age 12 and above.

He was grateful to the ED for his efforts in Promoting good morals and sanity in youths via movie content, but stressed that a lot has to be done in combating this menace that is gradually destroying our minors and youths. According to him ‘this is the time to fight against peer group influence for the benefit of the Nation Nigeria’.

The ED in his response thanked them for the award and promised to do more via classification of movies as proper look on such issues will be given more concentration. He departed with these words of advise to them ,” Forward ever, Backwards never”.
