THE NATIONAL FILM AND VIDEO CENSORS BOARD HAVE INTRODUCED A FASTER AND MORE CONVENIENT CLASSIFICATION SERVICE THAT WILL ENABLE PRODUCERS OF FILMS AND VIDEO WORKS MEANT FOR ONLINE DISTRIBUTION TO CLASSIFY THEIR FILMS FROM THE WARM COMFORT OF THEIR OFFICES OR STUDIOS;
HERE IS A STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ONLINE CLASSIFICATION OF FILMS AND VIDEO WORKS MEANT FOR ONLINE DISTRIBUTION.
NO. 1: Send an Application for Classification using a letter head, & stating the following about the film (s) or video works:
a) Title, genre, running time, synopsis, major cast and crew list, copyright authorisation, names of the producer and director, the name of the producer or Production company to be written on the Certificate and the guild or association the producer and or director are affiliated to.
No 2: UPLOAD your movie via Google Drive or We transfer and send with the application letter to ANY of the following email adresses of our headquarters, zonal offices and classification centres where you choose to send from:
For Abuja: verification@nfvcb.gov.ng
For lagos: lagosverification@nfvcb.gov.ng

No. 3: Producers of films meant for ONLINE DISTRIBUTION are expected to pay a FLAT RATE of N50,000 naira for a 1-to 120 minutes film or video work using the Remita payment platform of the Federal Government.
Forward the payment receipt to the email address of the zone OR center where the film was submitted and copy:

ONCE the payment is confirmed, your film or video work will be classified and approved within 24 hours.
A certificate will thereafter be issued and forwarded to your email.
Remember It is ILLEGAL to distribute or exhibit any film or video work not classified by the NFVCB. IT IS ALSO ILLEGAL TO DISTRIBUTE FILMS AND VIDEO WORKS if you are not a licensed distributor!
