Our strength as a country is diverse in so many ways and one of them is the movie industry that we know as Nollywood which has portrayed our rich culture, traditions and more through valid stories that represents and showcases our varietal richness in ethnicity.

Overtime Nollywood has registered itself with immense success and recognition not only in Nigeria but Africa and the world at large. this viable industry has grown into exchanging cultural values with movies and on the evidence of its ever-evolving-possibilities, it is surely going to keep growing further.

Nollywood, the biggest in Africa and second in the world, has impacted  Africa a lot with its tremendous strength which it has so far used to support movie industries in some countries in the continent and stakeholders in the creative industry across Africa who rated the movie industry high at the just concluded Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) which held from July 19 to July 29, 2018, in South Africa, lauded Nollywood which is helmed by the National Film and Video Censors Board for its success that has placed it miles ahead of others.

Some staff of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) led by the Executive Director, Alhaji Adedayo Thomas was among other Government agencies and industry players in attendance at the Festival.

The 39th edition of the Durban International Film Festival that was themed: “No filmmaker is Left Behind” saw Nigeria through the National Film and Video Censors Board among countries and stakeholders with pavilion at the film fiesta.

The Executive Director (NFVCB), Alhaji Adedayo Thomas and his delegates hosted and interacted with industry players on classification, association among other spheres of mutual interest aimed toward the growth of the country’s film and video industry.
