2017 was about key aims aplenty for organizations in the creative industry and for the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), it was about the fight against uncensored and unclassified films and videos in an unlicensed premises and it started with what is termed a feat in the history of the movie industry─a raid in Alaba international market and follow through with raids in Edo, Kaduna and Abuja, signaling a fight really for an end not just to kick up dust.
A journalist of the NFVCB conversed with a personality of great delight and reputed to have tremendous comedic prowess─Afeez Oyetoro”Saka” on his take on the fight and he said the following…
“It was everywhere, the news of the fight against uncensored and unclassified films and videos but its a development I welcome with hope that the board would include the music industry in their sphere of interest, that is, the music videos.”
“I have not seen the impact of the fight but the fact that it has started and it is ‘actively on’, is well above good. it was a long awaited start in the industry because it will enable the securement and safety of tomorrow ‘finanacially’.”
The veteran comic actor who has touched the entertainment industry with his theatre art-cum-comedic prowess added that there’s a lot to put in place and I believe the board can do much more than a lot.
