The Executive Director of the National Film and Video Censors Board ( NFVCB ), Alh Adedayo Thomas has likened ‘Piracy’ to Murder, Robbery, and Economic sabotage. Speaking at the just concluded exclusive screening of the movie “OSUNFUNKE” by Aralola Olumuyiwa popularly known as ( Ara Queen of Drums), held on Monday the 20th of November 2017, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, Alh Adedayo Thomas described the Creative Industry as second or third avenue of GDP growth in Nigeria.
The ED drew attention to the fact that if ‘Piracy’ is not put in check, it will give rise to a lot of damages in the Creative industry resulting to a Loss in GDP growth.
Our Movie makers are well known and recognized in and outside the country more than the oil magnets and big shots hence noting that the creative industry is the image maker of the country therefore collectively we should kick against Piracy.
The Executive Director also stated how well the National Film and Video Censors Board is doing in the Fight against Piracy through radical Monitoring and Enforcement the Board has embarked on in the last six months of his appointment as the Executive Director.
